Going North to Canada The quickest and most convenient routes into Canada are not open to the vast majority of individuals. The most reliable routes into Canada are as follows: “Investor” It was brought back from the edge by immigration procedures that allow foreigners to “purchase” permanent residency in Canada by investing in a business and so creating jobs. Not including that, of course.
Services for Skilled Workers and Skilled Trades Professionals are offered through Express Entry. The Skilled Trades system benefits an additional 3,000 persons annually. The Skilled Worker program is restricted to a small number of high-skilled professions or to those with relevant experience and education who have been offered jobs. Finally, some “self-employed” people, such as artists and farmers, fall into a profession category that does not require a visa to enter Canada to work and also falls into a special permanent residency category. Each of these is a pathway to permanent residency in Canada and, eventually, citizenship if you meet the requirements.

Whether you’re a semi-skilled worker or a “professional,” a work visa is the most common route into Canada. Two problems exist: To begin, you’ll need to demonstrate to a Canadian employer why you should be hired over a Canadian permanent resident or temporary worker. Second, because no Canadian is qualified for the position, the manager is considering approaching Human Resources and Employment Canada about hiring someone from outside the country (LMO).
With the additional difficulty of applying for jobs in a foreign country, it seems quite improbable. Your work history may count toward citizenship through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (STEP) for eligible workers, or the Skilled Worker and Semi-Skilled Worker programs in certain provinces.
2. STUDY AUTHORIZATION
Some universities in Canada are consistently ranked among the top in the world, and the country as a whole offers a wide range of program options. Realistic education schools are another option. What’s even better is that Canadian provinces offer permanent residence to post-secondary students. Study the PNP requirements for the province where the university is located before making your final university decision.
One employment offer following graduation and a promise to remain in the province are usually prerequisites. Moreover, if you need a student work permit to sustain yourself, remember that any employment you undertake as a student will not count toward any immigration work experience sources.
3. VISITOR VISA
Obtaining a visitor’s visa, if necessary, and then applying for work once you’re already in Canada is the ideal option if you need a job offer and a work permit to enter the country. Do not expect to be able to enter the Canadian labor market with just a passport. However, you will build relationships with potential employees over the course of time.
You should know that if you want to enter Canada for the purpose of finding job, a border agent is highly unlikely to let you in. But don’t lie; if you do, you’ll be deemed inadmissible and denied entry. Instead, plan an actual trip to Canada to see the country and see if you can build any connections while you’re here. The application for your work visa will begin as soon as you return home.
