For the academic year 2022-2023, the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB) is accepting scholarship applications for the Klaus Liebscher Economic Research Scholarships from foreign students from all over the globe are interested in doing postdoctoral research at the OeNB. Each scholarship recipient receives a consultation fee proportional to their work as a consultant. There is a cap of EUR 10,000 placed on the total cost of the scholarship for the whole.
The “Klaus Liebscher Economic Research Scholarship” was established by the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB) as a replacement for the economic research prizes that were previously distributed by the OeNB’s Economic Analysis and Research Department. Each scholarship recipient receives a consultation fee proportional to their work as a consultant. The total cost of the scholarship cannot exceed 10,000 Euros as an application fee (net of value-added tax). This fee will settle any debts owed to the OeNB by the scholarship recipient.
If value-added tax applies to the consulting services, the charge will increase by the current sales tax rate of 20%.
The individual awarded the scholarship is responsible for covering their expenses throughout the advisory term. The OeNB will, if at all feasible, assist the beneficiary in locating a place to stay in Vienna.
Benefits are given to recipients of the Klaus Liebscher Economic Research Scholarship.
A consultation fee will be awarded to any successful individual obtaining a scholarship. The charge will be determined according to the comprehensiveness of the consultation service. The charge cannot be more than 10,000 Euros, the net amount of value-added tax collected in this region. These costs will cover all of the scholarship recipients’ potential claims against the OeNB.
If mistakenly value-added tax is applied to consulting services, the charge for consultation will need to increase by the same amount as the current sales tax rate, which is 20%. Be advised that the scholarship recipients are responsible for covering the costs of their meals and housing throughout the time they are providing consulting services. The OeNB, on the other hand, will always be happy to assist the beneficiary in locating secure lodgings in Vienna (if possible)
